Description: This super chintz biscuit barrel was advertised in the Club news section in exchange for the use of the images for the catalogue. In the Spring Flower pattern, this piece exhibits exceptional condition. Even the original wicker handle is perfect. The piece commanded £153 but the reserve was not met. Measures 6 1/2 inches tall (9 inches with the handle up), and with a width of 5 1/2 inches. This is probably an export item as it was auctioned from Weston, Florida, USA. The barrel is a very rare example of chintz, and in this case made even rarer by the condition. Appealing to both the Myott and chintz collector, it could easily sell for £200.
